What, When, and Where?

For ten years, Multihull Demo Days has been the best event for people who are seriously thinking about buying a sailboat; whether it is a catamaran, trimaran, or even a monohull. It allows people to test sail every major production multihull available today from one location on the Tuesday following the U.S. Sailboat show in Annapolis Maryland.

The event is held at the Performance Cruising Marina about ½ mile from the location of the Sailboat show. This years Multihull Demo Days will be held on Tuesday, October 9th 2007.

How is Demo Days Organized?

During the event the boats are divided up into three categories: Catamarans 40 feet and over, Trimarans, and Catamarans under 40 feet.

The first two categories (Catamarans under 40' and Trimarans) sail together at 9:00 am, 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, 3:00 pm, and 5:00 pm. The last category, (catamarans 40' and over) sail at 10:00 am , 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm, and 4:00 pm.

The overlapping schedule avoids congestion at the dock. Since these boats are so large it is difficult to have all of them docking and leaving at the same time. The boats in both groups leave at exactly the same time so that clients can not only see what the boat they are sailing on is like, but also what the other boats in that category look like while they are sailing.

The boats all sail for an hour and a half leaving half an hour for boarding, so don’t be late for your appointments! You also have to remember that if you want to sail on two boats in different categories you will have to consider the overlap in sailing times. In other words if you want to sail on a trimaran at 9:00 am and then a catamaran over 40 feet, do not make your appointment for the catamaran at 10:00 am because you will not be back from your first sail until 10:30. You will have to wait until 12:00 pm to sail on the catamaran.

Keep careful track of your appointments because it is not the responsibility of the exhibitors to make sure your appointments do not overlap.

How Do I Make an Appointment?

To attend the event, clients must make an appointment directly with the exhibitors.

Appointments can be made in advance by contacting the exhibitors via links on this web page or appointments can be made in person with the exhibitor at the U.S. Sailboat show.

Advance appointments can be made up to one month prior to the event, (starting September 5th.) All appointments this year must be confirmed in person with the exhibitor at the United States Sailboat Show from October 4th to the 8th.

Your confirmation will be a ticket that you will pick up from the exhibitor that will also be your admission ticket onto the boat during Multihull Demo Days.
